TITLE:

BUS AIDE
|
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a fingerprint and background check
- Must have an excellent attendance record
- Must have, or be able to obtain, First Aide/CPR Certification
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch, and sit and stand for extended periods of time.

Director of Transportation and/or Transportation Supervisor

JOB GOAL:
|
To provide assistance to the bus driver in all areas of operation and provide safety to all students to and from school
|
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Provide assistance to school bus driver in maintaining order and discipline for Special Needs students riding in District vehicles
- Tie down wheelchairs and use all Special Needs restraints as required
- Safeguard all supplies and equipment
- Help prepare and clean special needs vehicles
- Ensure District vehicles are operated in a safe, efficient manner and that only authorized students and personnel are transported
- Communicate with Director, vehicle drivers, and District staff in a positive manner
- Provide departmental reports as requested
- Complete written reports and discuss with Director all accidents, vehicle damage, and student injury situations
- Be willing to work split shifts, as determined by the Director of Transportation
- Attend mandatory, paid, departmental meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to staff and students
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or his/her designee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
|
All days as determined by the Director of Transportation.
Vacation Days: per policy GDD.
General Leave Days: per policy GDCA
|
COMPENSATION:
|
Classified Salary Schedule, Salary Grade Level E
|
EVALUATION:
|
Initial evaluation to be completed not later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.
