TITLE:

Cafeteria Aide (Elementary/Middle School) - 2 hrs per day

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      High School Diploma or Equivalent.

2.      Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.

3.      Demonstrated ability to work successfully with children and adults.

4.      Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.

5.      Must be able to read, write and speak English.

6.      Must pass fingerprint and background check.

REPORTS TO:

Principal

JOB GOAL:

To assist in the maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria by helping and supervising students during lunch periods.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

1. Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals.
2. Provide excellent customer service skills to students, employees and community.
3. Demonstrate the ability to work with children in a patient, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
4. Demonstrate interest in the nutrition and enthusiasm for school lunch menu items.
5. Encourage and support healthy eating during lunch through interaction with students.
6. Regulate and assist student traffic in an efficient, orderly manner.
7. Prevent and subdue disorderly behavior, refer disciple problems to administrator.
8. Oversee that children clear tables and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.
9. Wipe and sanitize all tables before, during and after each lunch period. Assist in cleaning floor.
10. Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 9 Months, Part-Time

COMPENSATION:

Classified  Hourly Salary Schedule - B

EVALUATION:

Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.
